Estimating
Steelworks service covers an end-to-end solution for their clients specialising in all aspects of structural steel from multi tonne commercial and industrial projects to earthquake strengthening, residential and smaller steel work projects.
Surface Protection
Steelworks provide painting and galvanising steel to suit every specification and is prepared by either wire brushing or grit blasting. Any surface protection requirements are carried out by specialist sub-contractors to meet project specifications.
Fabrication
Our purpose build workshops are fitted with overhead cranes to allow us to mobilise items through the shop more efficiently. We have specialised equipment and new technology such as the robotic plasma cutting and coping machine to streamline the fabrication process.
Steel Erection
To complement our drawing and workshop teams we also provide fully trained and qualified site erection crews with their own equipment and cranes to enable the erection of fabricated structural steel in a safe and timely manner.
Detailing
Once a project is secured the detailing process begins. We have two in-house detailers using Tekla Steel Detailing software whose role is to take the design drawings and create component drawings that can be interpreted by the workshop staff.
Technology
We have high end technology here at Steelworks NZ including a Portable Miller-Welder / Generator and Nelson Stud Welding Machine, allowing us to be even more efficient.
